Improving Your Company's Safety Culture
Remembering why you need a safety program matters. It is not just a document. This saves lives.
Your Company is Unique
Your company has some unique challenges when it comes to electrical safety program development, but you certainly don’t need everything in these standards.
Let's Simplify Everthing
Maybe you just feel like you are rewriting the standard as your own program, or your policies aren’t customized for your team's specific needs. Let us help you simplify your program.
Multiple Authors or Too Many Revisions
Electrical safety programs often become messy with revisions from multiple authors that constantly contradict each other. Less is More!
In order for your safety program to really help the people it is intended to, it needs to focus on the “How”.
Most safety policies we’ve seen focus on the “What”, and that’s a great place to start, but once you get to the implementation phase it’s going to fall flat.
All anyone really wants to know is “How do I do that?”
The answers to these questions are your safety frameworks.
And just like our documentation, these frameworks are separated by who needs to use them.
A supervisor will get frameworks on how to manage the safety program, while electrical workers receive frameworks on how to do the work.
It also provides the foundation for training!

Why did we develop the ESP Accelerator.
You shouldn’t have to worry about deciphering all the electrical safety codes, standards, and regulations on your own.
Expert Advice
Request a quote, and once approved you'll get access to expert advice, procedures that have been tested and proven to work, and training material that you can’t find anywhere else.
The Reader Matters
We design our documents with the target audience in mind. Instead of one big document that everyone in the company refers to, we break it down into bite size chunks.
Everyone Gets What They Need
Management gets their “policy statement”, supervisors get their “guidebook”, and electrical workers get their “manual”.

FAQ
The majority of the program will focus on the things required by the qualified electrical workers... but make sure we are clear that it has to cover everyone. Operators, maintenance workers, engineers and many more will be impacted by the program.
This one is up to you... or your organization.
It really depends on how you are set up and the size of your company.
Early in the development process, you will want to decide who is responsible for at least these tasks:
- Implementation of the ESP
- Budgets and funding set aside
- Training and orientation are completed
- Audits are completed
- PPE is purchased
- Proper tools are purchased
- Incident reporting is effective
- Engineering studies are completed (arc flash study)
Every 3 years the electrical safety landscape seems to go through significant change. Or at least that’s been the case for the last 10-15 years.
You’ll need to account for these changes over time, so you’ll need a plan in place to make sure this doesn’t fall through the cracks.
Typically, this is as simple as designating someone as your electrical safety person and assigning them this responsibility in your roles and responsibility section.
If that's unrealistic then we recommend looking at our auditing services to help you stay on top of industry changes.
An Electrical Safety Program takes time to create, it's not as simple as writing it in one day. Our accelerator is designed to have a program you can implement within 3 months of starting but this will depend on your team’s progress and availability.
